ISLS Student Guesthouse

ISLS offers a Student Guest House in La Guacima de Alajuela is available to all of our students in Costa Rica. It is a great place to start out with when entering the country for the first time. Also, students who plan on being in country after their Spanish program is over to travel around can use the guesthouse as their home base.

This is a true guesthouse experience. Students are hosted by a local Costa Rican family the runs the house. Francini Salas is our ISLS office manager and her husband Carlos Cambronero is our driver. They will also be your hosts while you stay at their house. The guesthouse is located just 10 minutes away from the San Jose International Airport in a beautiful country setting. The town of La Guacima is a typical small rural Costa Rican town.

The guesthouse is situated on over 1 acre of land. There is a pond on the property and areas outdoors to relax and enjoy the countryside. There are two building; the main house and a back house. The main house is where the hosts live and there are two private rooms. In the back house there are two shared rooms and a students living area. There is cable TV and wireless internet. Students have access to the main kitchen and all bathrooms have access to bathrooms with showers and hot water.

If you are registered in the Welcome to Costa Rica Program, your accommodations at the ISLS Travelers Guest House or at a Bed & Breakfast are included in the cost of the Program.

Otherwise, the nightly Room Rates are as follows:

Room rates include:

• Free storage while you’re traveling including a secure locker for valuables.
• Use of kitchen, living room, and other amenities.
• The house is spacious and comfortable, with capacity available for 12 people.
• There is a nice sitting are near the pond where you can relax and soak up some sun while you study Spanish.

Rooms

There are both private and shared accommodations available. You can choose to stay in a room alone, with 3 people, or with 5 other people in a bunk bed room if cost is your main concern. All linens, towels and maid service are included. The rooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily.
