Book Club
Essentially a traditional book club where a group of participants choose a book to read together over a certain period of time. They have regularly scheduled meetings, weekly or biweekly to discuss what they have read and have chapter goals to complete before they meet so that all are at the same place in the book. We provide a Spanish teacher who acts as a moderator and steers the conversation about the book in Spanish.
We will have three groups: 10- to 13-year old, 14- to 17-year-old and Adults. We will pick around ten books in each age range for the students to choose.
We will have Closed groups, meaning groups that come to us already set up. This could be a group of friends, classmates, family members etc. They can choose their own books or one of ours. These groups can start anytime and either have a specific number of weeks or be open ended time-wise.
We will also have open groups in each age group with specific start dates.
The standard time frame to read a book will be five weeks. They would either meet once a week or twice a week, depending. We can also do a shortened version in three weeks with 2 meetings a week.
Each meeting will be 55-minute-long, unless otherwise requested by a closed group.
No more than 10 students in an open group. Minimum of 3 people in an open group. Private groups can be any size.
